Multimedia Journalism: Maps with Carto DB
CartoDB is a new mapping platform that lets users build interactive maps. Launched in Spain in April 2012, the platform is already being used by major news organizations, as The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, and National Geographic.
Our Master in Digital Journalism included a class of Mapping, Visualization and Interactive, taught by Carlos Martinez de la Serna, where we learnt basic knowledge of mapping and visualization applied to journalism, and how to work with some tools like Carto DB.
Here there are some maps I realized with CartoDb for my final project on Youth Suicide in U.S.
Just click on the images to see the maps and interact with them! 😉
